Detailed Solution

The distance of the image formed is -3.33 cm.
Given,
Object distance, u= -10 cm and focal length, f= -5 cm.
Form the lens formula,
1f=1v-1u
Where f, v, and u are the focal length, image distance and object distance, respectively.
On arranging the terms, we get
1v=1f+1u
On substituting the given values, we get the image distance as
1v=1(-5)+1(-10)
1v=-2-110
 v= -3.33 cm A negative sign indicates that the image will be formed on the same side as that of the object.
