Detailed Solution

For concave lens

Focal length 𝑓 =− 60 𝑐𝑚

Height of the object ℎ =+ 9 𝑐𝑚

Object distance 𝑢 =− 30 𝑐𝑚

Image distance, 𝑣 =?

Length of an image formed ℎ' =?

According to lens formula

1f=1v-1u

1-60=1v-1-30

1-60=1v+130

  1v=-160-130

  1v=-1-260

  1v=-120

  v=-20 cm

According to the linear magnification of the lens,

m=vu=h'h -20-30=h'9   23=h'9   h'=183   h'=6 cm
