Detailed Solution

An object of mass 2 kg and density 8000 kg/m3 of volume 2.5× 10-4 m3 will exert force of buoyancy 2 N in a liquid of density 8000 kg/m3.
Given that,
Density of liquid = 8000 kg/m3
Volume of the object = 2.5× 10-4 m3
We know that buoyant force is equal to the product of volume of liquid displaced, density and gravitational acceleration.
Buoyant force = volume of liquid displace × density of liquid × g
On putting all the values in this relation we get,
Buoyant force= 2.5× 10-4 m3×8000 kg/m3×10  m/s2 Buoyant force= 2 N
