An optically inactive compound (A) gives (+) ve iodoform test and gives coloured compound with braddy’s reagent. When it is treated with hydroxyl amine in mild acidic medium, it produces two different compounds (B) & (C). Each when further heated with conc. $H_{2}S{O}_4$ produces (D) & (E) respectively. Further hydrolysis of (D) & (E) both produces mixture of carboxylic acid and an amine. Acid produced by hydrolysis of (D) is most acidic among its isomers and the amine produce by hydrolysis of (E) is least basic among its positional isomers.
