Number of books $= 308$

Number of books in $1$ shelf $= 12$

To find:
Number of shelves completely filled
Number of books that cannot not be kept in shelves

Calculation:
Number of shelves that can be filled completely $= \frac{308}{12} = 25 \frac{8}{12}$

$25$ is quotient and $8$ is the remainder.

Hence, 25 shelves can be filled completely and 8 books will not be able to keep in shelves.
