Antibiotics are ineffective against which pathogenic diseases?

Antibiotics are ineffective against viral pathogens as viruses are active only inside a host cell and since they lack biochemical pathways they use the host machinery to replicate. Thus, antibiotics cannot control the growth of viruses in the human body without affecting human cells.

Antibiotics are drugs obtained from other organisms such as moulds, fungi, and bacteria to combat harmful pathogens like bacteria, fungi, protozoans, etc. Amoxicillin, doxycycline, azithromycin, and penicillin are a few examples of antibiotics.
