Detailed Solution

Apartheid was a legal policy followed in South Africa between 1948 and 1989. Apartheid means racial discrimination. It is mainly based on the race and colour of the person. It was widely practised in the country under White Minority rule. The Britishers, who were white, treated the native South Africans and Indian indentured labourers employed in the country as inferior due to their dark colour. They were not allowed entry into areas where the whites lived.
