Are ores and metallurgy in JEE Mains?

For JEE Main 2025 (Paper 1, B.E./B.Tech), “General Principles and Processes of Isolation of Metals (Metallurgy)” is not listed in the official Chemistry syllabus PDF. You’ll still see related foundational chemistry (thermodynamics, electrochemistry, etc.), but metallurgy as a named unit isn’t there. Actionably, focus your time on the syllabus units and use NCERT selectively if you want enrichment, not because it’s directly examinable. If you’re creating content or studying, anchor it to the official PDF and past papers rather than older “weightage” folklore.
