Arya Samaj was founded by Dayanand Saraswati.
Dayananda Saraswati started the powerful modern Hindu reform movement known as Arya Samaj (Sanskrit: "Society of Nobles") in 1875 to restore the Vedas, the earliest Hindu scriptures, as the "revealed truth". Arya Samaj is a monotheistic Indian Hindu reform movement that upholds principles and behaviours based on the conviction that the Vedas are infallible. The first Hindu group to introduce proselytisation inside Hinduism was Arya Samaj.
