Detailed Solution

As the Awadh movement permeated in 1921, the houses of landlords and merchants were razed to the ground, bazaars were sacked, and grain hoards were captured.
Jawaharlal Nehru started visiting the villages in Awadh in June 1920 to talk to the locals and understand their complaints. By October, Jawaharlal Nehru, Baba Ramchandra, and a few others had organised the Oudh Kisan Sabha. In 1921, as the movement gained momentum, talukdars' and merchants' homes were attacked, bazaars were pillaged, and grain hoards were seized. Nai-dhobi (barbers and washermen) bandhs were organised to deny landlords access to even washermen and barbers. Local authorities frequently informed residents that Gandhi had declared that no taxes would be paid and that land would be distributed among the poor.
