Detailed Solution

Hindi is identified as the official language of India. About 40 percent of Indians speak the Hindi language. Besides Hindi, the Constitution of India recognized 21 other languages as Scheduled Languages. All twenty-two languages are mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. The reason for adding 21 other languages to the Indian constitution is that India is a nation of diversity, and many different languages are used throughout the country. This would help the participation of each language of every region and would also prevent supremacy of Hindi-speaking people over the others.
