The Industrial Revolution occurred in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and was largely confined to Britain. It was a process of transformation from an agricultural and handmade economy to a machine manufacturing economy. It led to large-scale migrations of workers and labourers seeking employment and better wages.
However, the working conditions at the factories were not at all good and were often harsh. Men, women, and children had to work for 11-12 hours on very low wages. The working conditions were not safe and often led to fatal accidents. In addition, tasks were assigned to different groups of people, which became monotonous work for them. Hence, both the Assertion and Reason are true, but the Reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion.
