The Great Depression gave impetus to Nazism by gaining mass support. The great depression was characterized by a decline in the economy, collapsing of banks and businesses, the unemployment of workers, and a declining middle class. Nazism emerged as a hope for a better future. Nazi party ran propaganda for a change in Germany by strengthening the economy through political interference. By 1932, the Nazi party became the largest party with a majority of 37%.
