Detailed Solution

(A) is false, but (R) is true.
In the year 1929, under Stalin, the Party forced all peasants to cultivate in collective farms called kolkhoz. This policy came under Stalin's Collectivisation Programme. The land was transferred to the ownership of collective farms. The peasants worked on the farm but the profit was shared by the kolkhoz. The peasants protested, but the ones who did were later severely punished. Many were sent to exile as well. The cultivators were treated miserably. But despite this Collectivisation, production didn't go up. In fact, due to the bad harvest, in the year between 1930-1933, there occurred one of the most devastating famines due to bad harvest that the Soviet Republic had ever witnessed, marking the death of 4 million people.
