Detailed Solution

East Africa is where the Maasai livestock herders mostly reside. Maasailand, before colonialism, covered a sizable territory that spanned from northern Kenya to the steppes of northern Tanzania.
The continent of Africa was divided into many colonies in the late nineteenth century as European imperial powers competed for territorial possession. An international border between British Kenya and German Tanganyika split Maasailand in half in 1885. As a result, the Maasai were forced into a constrained area in southern Kenya and northern Tanzania, while the best grazing fields were eventually taken over by European settlers.
