Detailed Solution

Wind erosion generally occurs in regions with slopes and flats which are barren. The winds blow the loose soil off flat or slopes. This can be prevented by strip cropping or using shelterbelts. The strip cropping method is done by alternatively growing different types of crops on the same field in different strips, thus breaking the winds. This technique helps the soil in retaining its nutrients.
The primary reason for soil erosion in India is faulty agricultural practices. This includes wrong ploughing, lack of crop rotation, and practice of shifting cultivation. The agricultural crops that often replace the trees do not hold on to the soil as well as the trees. These crops included barley, wheat, cotton, coffee, etc. So, whenever it rains, this soil is more susceptible to erosion. Hence, (R) is the not correct explanation of (A).
