According to the above question, the Assertion is incorrect, but its reasoning is correct.
Most groundwater lakes are not found in the Himalayas. Only some are also found in field areas of India. Hence Assertion is incorrect. Glacial lakes are located in the Himalayas and are made through Glaciers. Some are very short, whereas some are big enough to bring flood in hilly areas. These glacial lakes cause a flood when there is a very high temperature due to Global Warming, and fresh snow starts to melt. Another reason for this phenomenon is a disturbance on the earth's surface by physical activities of humans like construction which breaks the walls of Glacial lakes and allows it to bring floods in hilly areas.
