Detailed Solution

Concept- For their own requirements, several species prepare their own nourishment. They're known as autotrophs. Almost all ecosystems rely mostly on plants for production. Other creatures that rely on autotrophs for nourishment. We refer to them as heterotrophs.
Since fungi cannot produce their own food, they are heterotrophic creatures. Food is prepared in different ways by autotrophs. The most prevalent means of food preparation for autotrophs is photosynthesis. Plants transform solar energy into chemical energy during photosynthesis. Food
generated during photosynthesis is saved and utilised to create ATP. The currency of energy in cells is ATP. In the process of photosynthesis, a unique pigment known as chlorophyll traps sunlight energy in the leaves. There are numerous forms of chlorophyll. These include chlorophylls a, b, c, and others. In addition to this, plants also require additional pigments like xanthophyll and carotenoids. Autotrophs employ elements including carbon dioxide, water, and sunshine in this
process. Recognize that not all autotrophs are inherently photosynthetic. Some people use a technique known as chemosynthesis to manufacture food. Here, food preparation involves the use of chemicals. Chemoautotrophs is the name for them. Examples include some chemosynthetic bacteria, including those that produce green sulphur and purple sulphur. Therefore, being autotrophic is not only determined by photosynthesis. Because they lack chlorophyll, fungi cannot be heterotrophic, yet they may still produce food through alternative processes like chemosynthesis.
Therefore, choice two is the best one.
Hence, option 2 is the correct answer.
