The distance between the person and his image is equal to 8 m.
The image is 6 m away from the plane mirror. So, that means the object is also 6 m away from the mirror. When a person moves 2 m towards the plane mirror,  the distance between the plane mirror and the person is (6 m - 2 m) = 4 m.
