Detailed Solution

Given that,
The angle of elevation from the point on the ground θ= 45 °
The angle of elevation after moving 20  m towards the tower ϕ= 60 °
We draw the schematic diagram,
Question ImageWe use the trigonometric identity,
tanθ= perpendicular base
The distance DC form the ΔACD  ,
tan 60 ° = AC DC 3 = AC DC tan 60 ° = 3 AC= 3 DC........(i)
The distance DC form the ΔABC  ,
tan 45 ° = AC BD+DC 1= AC 20+DC 20+DC=AC........(ii)
Substituting the value of AC from the equation (1) in (2)
DC+20= 3 DC 3 DCDC=20 DC 3 1 =20 DC= 20 3 1   On rationalizing we get,
Question ImageFrom (ii),
AC=27.32+20 AC=47.32
Thus, the height of the tower will be 47.32  m.
Therefore the correct option is 1.
