Detailed Solution

At least two parties are needed in any democratic system to compete in elections and provide a fair chance for the competing parties to come to power. The democratic setup has various party systems, such as one-party or uni-party systems, two-party or bi-party systems, and multiparty systems. Only one party can contest elections and form the government in the one-party system. Thus, one party system does not encourage competition nor provide a choice to the voters. This makes one party system undemocratic. It is mainly followed by the communist, fascist, and dictatorial regimes to mask themselves as democratic. Example- In China, only the communist party can form the government.
