At 18 years, people can cast a vote in elections. The Indian constitution has given the right to vote to all adults. All the citizens of India 18 years and above, regardless of their social status or religion, whether rich or poor, have the right to vote. Every year the Election Commission of India generalises the list of eligible voters. After regular intervals of time, elections are held in India. Eligible voters can vote for the candidate of their choice enrolled in elections. Winners are selected based on the number of votes a particular candidate obtains. Every person can give their vote only once in an election.
