At age 9, Samoan boys joined older boys in learning outdoor jobs. According to research findings, children did not attend school in the 1920s in Samoa. They picked up skills from older kids and adults, such as how to look after kids or housework. They acquired these skills at various times throughout their youth. Babies were cared for by younger children, frequently as young as five years old. And when a boy was approximately nine years old, he started learning outside jobs like fishing and cultivating coconuts alongside the older males.
