Detailed Solution

Given,
Principal amount, P = Rs 4000,
Time period, t = 2 years,
Compound interest, C.I. = 410
Apply the compound interest formula and calculate the interest r. CI=P 1+ r 100 t P   Now substitute, t = 2, P = 4000 and C.I. = 410,
410=4000 1+ r 100 2 4000
4410=4000 1+ r 100 2 4410 4000 = 1+ r 100 2 1.1025= 1+ r 100 2 1.05 2 = 1+ r 100 2
 Compare both sides, it gives
  1.05=1+ r 100 r 100 =1.051 r 100 =0.05 r=5   Hence, the required percentage is 5% per annum
Hence, the correct option is 3.
