Detailed Solution

At the Panchayat government level, women have a reservation. Women hold one-third of the seats in local government entities such as panchayats and municipalities. In rural and urban local governments, there are around 10 lakh elected women legislators. Women's reservations in Panchayati Raj institutions (PRIs) were considered a way to boost women's empowerment through increasing political awareness, self-confidence, and participation in regional development and social issues. The 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment Acts of 1992 were transformative, ushering in more than 15 lakh women into positions of leadership in India's local government.
