Concept: We will calculate the number of slabs in each of the figure b using that we can calculate the perimeter of both slabs.

So let’s calculate for figure (a)
As we can see, each side of the square consists of 3 slabs .
Side of slab =

\frac{1}{2} m

Side length of slab =

3 \times \frac{1}{2} m = \frac{3}{2} m

Perimeter of square = 4n
=

4 \times \frac{3}{2} m = 6 m .

Thus the perimeter of figure (a) is 6m.
Let’s calculate for figure (b)
So we can see that the diagram has two slabs and four non-slabs.
