Detailed Solution

Babur was the first Mughal Emperor in India.
Babur was India's first Mughal Emperor, reigning from 1526 to 1530 CE. Babur, the first Mughal emperor, took advantage of India's volatile political situation following the death of Sikandar Lodi. He attacked India at Daulat Khan's invitation. Between 1519 and 1523, he led four expeditions to India to conquer it. Finally, in 1526, Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi at the Battle of Panipat. Mughals belonged to a Turkic branch known as Chagatai, named after Genghis Khan's second son, the famous Mongol leader. Babur, a Chagatai Turk, laid the groundwork for the Mughal Empire in India in 1526 CE.
