Some strains of B. thuringiensis produce protein crystals during a particular phase of their growth that kill certain insect groups like lepidopterans coleopterans  and dipterans. Specific Bt toxin genes were isolated from B. thuringiensis and incorporated into the several crop plants such as cotton

Agrobacterium inserts tumor causing genes via Ti plasmid into dicot plants and cause crown gall disease. Disarmed Ti plasmid (which lost ability to cause tumor but retain the ability to insert DNA into a host cell ) used as cloning vector for deliver desired genes into plants.

Thermostable DNA polymerase is isolated from Thermus aquaticus. It is widely used in gene aplification method invitro - PCR.

Ligase is an enzyme which is used to join the cut ends of nucleotide sequences by forming a phosphoester bond.
