Detailed Solution

Baigas are a forest community in Central India.
Since the people had been forcibly uprooted from their homes in the forests, the Baigas forest community in central India issued a petition against the suspension of shifting cultivation in 1892.
According to the Indian Constitution, the Baigas are a particularly vulnerable tribal community that relies on fishing, foraging for food from the forest, and shifting cultivation. Only 150,000 members of the tribe live in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh's wooded regions. The Baigas lived in a jungle in Central India. They engaged in bewar, or slash-and-burn, farming because they thought using a plow to plow the ground was like scratching Mother Earth's breast.
