Balkans were connected to Europe in a certain manner.
The Balkans was a region between the black sea and the Arabian sea. In the region of the Balkans, there were more than 12 nations. A large part of the Balkans was under Ottoman Turks. But Balkan was not done with the revolution for freedom from Ottoman Turks. In the 19th century, the Balkans were weakening due to the Ottoman Empire. This led to the Balkans’ dismemberment, and some of the states of Balkan declared themselves independent countries. Balkan states were jealous of each other and didn't want to use a penny of their own for their country. European power manipulated the Balkan nationalist to fulfil their imperialism. This became the reason for the big rivalry among European powers over trade and colonies and naval and military matters.
