Banda Veer Bairagi was killed by the  Mughals.
A Khalsa army leader and Sikh warrior, Banda Veer Bairagi. He took the name Madho Das Bairagi when he left home at 15 to become an ascetic. He built a monastery on the Godavari River's bank in Nanded (Maharashtra). Guru Gobind Singh agreed to travel to southern India in 1707 to meet Bahadur Shah I. In 1708, he visited Banda Singh Bahadur. He arrived at Sonipat, put together a fighting force, and took the initiative in the uprising against the Mughal Empire. After the baptism ritual, Banda was given the name Gurbaksh Singh and accepted as Guru Gobind Singh's student. He goes by the name Banda Singh Bahadur.
