Banjaras were a group of graziers.
A group of farmers known as banjaras. They moved around to allow their cattle to graze on the property, looking for suitable pastures and a good supper for their animals. Villages of Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh contain them. The Banjara community purchased goods by barter system. Their primary activity was the exchange of effective barter systems. They obtain the grains and fodders they need to sustain themselves and their families through a barter system (exchange of goods).
