Bark refers to all tissues exterior to the vascular cambium, therefore it includes 

Bark refers to a number of tissue type, viz – periderm, primary cortex, endodermis, pericycle, primary and secondary phloem. Xylem and pith are interior to vascular cambium and hence not a part of bark.
