Bell jar Experiment was performed by ?

In 1772 Joseph Priestly kept a burning candle and a mouse in a closed glass container. He found that after a few hours later the candle was put off and mouse got suffocated as both used oxygen. Later he placed mint plant, candle and mouse in the same bell jar and found that the mouse stayed alive and candle continued to burn. He concluded that plants restore to the air whatever breathing animals and burning candles remove.
