Detailed Solution

Bengal faced a severe famine in 1770. The Bengal famine of 1770 was also known as the Great Famine of Bengal, in which millions of people died from hunger. The reasons for the Bengal famine were:
        The weather.
The critical policies of the East India Company for farmers.
The collection of tax and revenue from farmers.
As the policies of Britishers were consistently exploiting farmers, they did not store the grains because it was not sufficient for farmers to consume, and there was a drought in 1769 and 1770, so this was a double attack. Hence, in 1770, there was a terrible famine in which around 10 million people died.
