Bewar is a term used for Shifting cultivation.
Bewar-A Madhya Pradesh name for shifting farming. Every harvest in Aghan was ready, and winnowing took place in Gunk. Gunk was also a period for weddings and dancing. In Magh, shifts were made to new bewars, and hunting-gathering was the main source of livelihood. The preceding cycle occurred during the first year. There was more time for hunting in the second year because only a few crops had to be sown and gathered. However, because there was ample food, the males lived in the bewars. Only in the third year did the diet need to be supplemented with forest products.
