Water from the Bhakra-Nangal project is used in the Sutlej-Beas river basin for agricultural and hydroelectric power generation. The Bhakra Dam is located in Himachal Pradesh, in the Bilaspur district. The Bhakra dam created the Gobind Sagar reservoir.
