Detailed Solution

Bile juice is secreted by the liver.

The liver, the largest gland in our body, produces bile juice. However, this bile does not directly enter the small intestine. First, it gets stored in a small sac called the gallbladder. When food containing fats reaches the small intestine, the gallbladder releases the bile into the intestine.

What does bile do?

Bile helps in the digestion of fats by breaking large fat droplets into smaller ones. This process is called emulsification of fats.

It also creates an alkaline environment in the small intestine, which helps digestive enzymes work better.

So, remember:

  • Secreted by: Liver
  • Stored in: Gallbladder
  • Helps in: Digestion of fats
