Detailed Solution

Black soil is rich in minerals like iron, calcium, magnesium, and humus.
Due to their high clay content, black soils develop large cracks during the dry season, but their iron-rich grain structure makes them resistant to wind and water erosion. In addition, because this black soil is resistant to humidity, this soil can be easily irritated. The disintegration of the oozing lava formed this soil flows centuries ago in the Deccan traps. Today this soil is distributed over the Deccan plateau and the Malwa plateau. The soil must have a phosphorus content because it helps plants' timely growth and maturity, but because black soil lacks these features, fertilisers are often used.
