Detailed Solution

The Blandongdiensten system was a rent policy followed by the Dutch people in Java, an island in Indonesia.
It was under the colonial rule of the Dutch from as long back as 1596, and they had control over the island for about three centuries until the British occupied Java in 1811. The Dutch introduced a rent system for the forested lands, termed Blandongdiensten. It was to be paid by those cultivators who practised cultivation on the land of the forests. The Dutch later exempted some villages from paying this tax if they collectively provided free labour and buffaloes for cutting and transporting timber.
