Detailed Solution

British cotton industries boomed in the late eighteenth century.
As Britain's cotton industry grew, business organisations started to worry about imports from other nations. For Manchester goods to sell in Britain without any outside competition, they persuaded the government to impose import taxes on cotton textiles. Industrialists also convinced the East India Company to sell British goods in Indian markets at the same time. Early in the nineteenth century, there was a sharp increase in the export of British cotton products.
