Detailed Solution

Buddha attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya.
Siddhartha Gautama, later known as Buddha, was born in Lumbini, near Kapilavastu (Nepal). He was born into the Sakya family in the fifth century BCE. He left his palace and his luxurious life at the age of 29. After six years of wandering, Gautama, at age 35, decided to build his path to enlightenment and meditated for days on end under a peepal tree in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, where he attained enlightenment. Following his enlightenment, he was given the title Gautama Buddha, the location was named Bodh Gaya, and the tree was called the Bodhi tree.
