Detailed Solution

Buddhism reached Tibet via Ladakh. Ladakh is one of the most famous deserts in India (it is located in the northern corner). Because of its climate (it does not receive adequate rainfall and remains mostly covered in snow) and location, people here do not engage in agricultural activities. Their main sources of income are goats and sheep. In earlier times (when there were no faster means of transport and even when they were available, they were too expensive), people used to travel from Ladakh to Tibet (in India, traders also used to come from different parts of the world). As a result of this, exchanges in different aspects used to take place between two regions.
