Detailed Solution

Burhan-ul-Mulk also held the combined offices of subadari, Diwani and faujdari. He was appointed subadar of Awadh in 1722, and soon after that, he formed one of the most influential nations to emerge from the disintegrating Mughal Empire. Awadh was a wealthy region controlling the great Ganga plain and the main commerce route linking Bengal and northern India. The faujdari, subadari, and Diwani were all rolled up as Burhan-ul-Mulk. In other words, he oversaw the political, economic, and military affairs of the Awadh province. Burhan-ul-Mulk tried to lessen the authority of the Mughals in the Awadh region by cutting back on the number of Mughal-appointed officials (jagirdars). He also made jagirs smaller and used his devoted subordinates to fill open positions.
