Detailed Solution

By crossing the Pir panjal passes, Gujjar Bakarwals entered the valley of Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir are excellent sheep and goat herders because they can traverse the Pir Panjal. Most Pir Panjal pastoralists are Muslims who also engage in nomadic pastoralism. The pastoralists from Jammu and Kashmir, known as pir panjal, have raised cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, camels, and horses for hundreds of years to support themselves. Since herding is their primary occupation, they sell their herd to make money for livelihood to provide the animals with healthy pastures. For their cattle, they also sell milk and wool.
