Detailed Solution

Given, the diameter of the Earth is 1.2756× 10 7  m   and the diameter of the Sun is 1.4× 10 9  m  .
From the given data, we have,
Diameter of sun =1.4× 10 9  m.
Diameter of earth =1.2756× 10 7  m.
= 1.2756× 100 100 × 10 7  m.   = 0.012756× 10 2 × 10 7  m.
= 0.012756× 10 9  m.
Therefore we have,
Diameter of sun  Diameter of earth  = 1.4× 10 9 0.012756× 10 9   Diameter of sun  Diameter of earth  = 1.4 0.012756
Diameter of sun  Diameter of earth  = 14000000 127560
Diameter of sun  Diameter of earth  = 1400000 12756
Diameter of sun  Diameter of earth  =109.75 (approx 110)   Hence, the diameter of the Sun is greater than the diameter of the Earth by 110 times.
Hence option (4) is correct.
