Detailed Solution

By the mid-19th century, a grazing tax was introduced in most religious tracts of India.
The exploitation of the British knew no bounds. They imposed taxes on every possible source - land, canal water, salt, trade goods, and even animals, to increase their revenue income. The pastoralists had to pay a tax to the colonial officials on every animal they grazed on the limited pastures. This tax was known as the grazing tax and was put in place by the mid-19th century in most religious tracts of India. The tax per head of cattle went up, and the tax collection system for them was made more efficient over the years, ensuring that no one could escape the government's clutches.
