Detailed Solution

Given that, P’s salary is more than Q’s if Q’s salary is 20% less than that of P.
Let P’s salary be ‘x’.
According to the question,
Q’s salary,
x20%of x x 20 100 ×x x 1 5 x
  Q’s salary = 4 5 x  ……(i)
We know that,
increase%= increase in quantity original quantity ×100   (ii)
As solved above, P’s salary is 1 5 x  more than Q’s salary.
1/5 x 4/5 x ×100 25%     [Using (ii)]
P’s salary is 25% more than Q’s salary.
Hence, option 2 is correct.
