Detailed Solution

The Chemical reaction for the decomposition of lime stone is

           CaCO3(s)CaO (s)+CO2(g)

            Reactants                 Products

GMW of one mole of lime stone , CaCO3is ,

            1(Ca) + 1(C) +  3(O)=1(40)+1(12)+3×(16)

                                    =40+12+48

                                    =100g

The gas produced in the decomposition of lime stone is CO2.

Gram molar mass of CaO =1(40)+1(16)=56g
