Calcium phosphate is present in tooth enamel and it is basic in nature.

Calcium phosphate Ca3(PO4)2 is a basic salt. It is a salt of phosphoric acid which is a weak acid and calcium hydroxide which is a strong base. When the pH of our mouth falls below 5.5 (becomes more acidic) due to excess eating of sweets etc. the dissolution of the tooth enamel begins. This proves that calcium phosphate is basic in nature.
